This blog will be devoted to describe my experiences, results, mistakes, confusions and anything in between while following the Ango at Treeleaf Zendo.
Not sure how interesting will be to other people, but I think it will be a good motivator for me to keep on pursuing my goal.
So, this is my commitment
Sitting in Zazen at least 35 minutes everyday (+5 minutes more than I did before)
Finding 15 extra minutes in the afternoon for another sitting.
Practicing Metta meditation daily
Try the nurturing seeds practice as much as possible
To practice mindful eating with every meal
To regularly join in the debates at the forum, specially does related to the Ango and those about the Jukai, which I’m going to join too.
Read about Samu and put it into practice, specially with my new rol as father! :)
To join the 90 minutes Zazenkais at Trealeaf. If schedule allows, live, if not, later with the recorded form
To listen to the sit-a-long talks at Shambala Sunspace regularly
To meet Jundo or Taigu via Skype at least once a month.
Give regular donations to charities
To commit to the special 2 day Rohatsu retreat (december 4 & 5)
To give up two items or passions during the practice period. (That’s the toughest one!)
Wow! Looks like a lot of work. I hope I can manage it all
We are flying today to Mali, to pick up our adopted son and be back the 30th of august. I’ll start the Ango the 28th like everybody else, but I guess won’t be able to post here untill the 31th or so.
